Metal Art Candle Holders
Candles have been around for a long time, which means that candle holders have too. And artistic metal stands, what we today would call metal art candle holders’ have been found at many ancient archaeological digs. Oil lamps were the first form of artificial lighting discovered by man. The light given off by a cloth wick in a pool of oil allowed ancient man to function even after the sun went down. Although oil lamps continued to be in use till the advent of electricity, the discovery that solidified animal fat would provide and equally good sources of fuel to a burning wick caused the candle to come into being and its popularity soon equaled and often overtook that of the oil lamp.
Since candles are, because of their shape, intrinsically unstable, candle holders were required. The earliest known ones were just flat pieces of metal with a point or pin on the surface to which a candle could be firmly fixed. Once this purpose was achieved, metal workers looked towards enhancing their visual appeal and making them items of beauty. Thus was born the metal art candle holder.
There is nothing like soft candle light to add romance and atmosphere to a room. And if the candle is fitted to a metal art candle holder, the appeal is greatly enhanced. An enduring image is of the romantic dinner for two with a gleaming candelabra in the middle of the table. The candelabra is a metal art candle holder!
Metal art candle holders are a great way to decorate and add character to your home. Even if you do not want to actually use them, their presence adds glamour to a room. Metal art candle holders can range from a wrought iron piece of elaborate design for holding one candle to large pieces that hold many. These can be table pieces as in the case of candelabras, to wall fixtures and even old fashioned candle fitted chandeliers.
Turn off the electric lights and try using candles on elegant metal art candle holders to light up a room. The warmth and atmosphere that candle light creates may tempt you to think of candle light not just a back up in times of power outages, but as a part of your lifestyle. Metal art candle holders are not just decorative items in themselves, but when put to use, can change the whole tone and mood of a room.

Removing Excess Wax from Your Candleholders

There’s nothing more frustrating than having a beautiful decorative candleholder only to have it covered in melted wax. After all, once your candle gets hot enough and burns long enough, it will drip all that wax into and onto the candleholder. This can greatly impair the look of the candleholder, especially if it’s ornate. And it can also be frustrating because that wax is notoriously hard to get off.
Even if you manage to pick off the majority of the wax, you’re still often left with a fine waxy film on the candleholder surface. This will dull the overall look of the piece. As such, the best way to clean this home décor piece is by removing the large chunks of wax by hand. Using a knife will potentially knick or cut your candleholder, so stick to prying off what you can with your fingernails. For the residue, boil some water and pour it in a bowl. Dip the candleholder in the water until the remaining wax begins to soften or melt altogether. Remove the candleholder and wipe the excess wax with a paper towel. Be careful, though. Metal candleholders will be extremely hot when they are removed from the boiling water. Repeat until clean.

Cool Candelabras
Candles are a great way to create a warm ambiance in any home. Candelabras are a stylish way to display the candles in your home. For those of you who are unfamiliar with candle accessories, a candelabra is a branched candle holder that consists of two or more candles. Beneath each candle holder is a little shelf to catch dripping wax. There are several different styles of candelabras that you can use to decorate your home.
Traditionally, contemporary and antique candelabras are sold by various online businesses and shops. These candle holders may also be made from pewter, silver, wrought iron, porcelain or crystal. And, if you would like something that holds more than two candles-you’re in luck-some candelabras hold up to six candles.
Classic Candleholders for the Home

Before the light bulb, candles were the sole means through which people saw in darkened spaces. During these thousands of years in which fire was the sole source of light, cultures around the world devised several variations of candleholders. These candleholders became staples in temples, churches, and homes throughout the world. Candleholders are a central part of several cultures, and can be used as a decoration or serve as objects which can assist in praying or meditation. For example, in India, candleholders were used to hold incense and also to provide light to those praying at temples or altars.
No matter what the theme of your home, a candleholder makes an excellent addition to any interior space. The best part is, you don’t even have to light candles in your candleholder. Most candleholders are quite ornate and beautiful, and can serve just as well as accessories as alternative sources of light.
